Here's the Rub
Fan of The Martian? It's seriously one of my favorite movies, so I had to name this blend appropriately. I betcha Matt Damon's character would have loved some of this seasoning on his potatoes instead of crushed Vicoden. If you have not seen it, please go check it out! Awesome survival story.
I digress: anyhow, this rub brings smoky, earthy flavors to the table. The versatile rub is great on all cuts and cooking methods.
Pan Grilled Chicken:
2 large chicken breast
1 Tablespoon SMSF Here's the Rub
1 Tablespoon olive oil
Pat chicken dry, cut into thirds. Pound larger ends so chicken cooks evenly.
Coat chicken evenly with SMSF Here's the Rub, set aside.
Heat nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Gently place chicken breast pieces into hot oil. Cook about 5 minutes, reducing heat, if needed. Gently turn pieces over. Cook for another 5 min or so until juices run clear. Serve.
Dark chili powder, brown sugar, garlic, salt, paprika, black pepper, mustard, coriander, rosemary, onion, cayenne, cumin seed, celery, carrot, red bell pepper, green bell pepper
